Messy Mom Monday: Vlog Style

You all rocked Messy Mom Monday last week.

Like, Took-It-And-Ran-With-It rocked it.

I was so happy. Not only was I in amazing company, but I felt like we all really saw past the clutter on our counter-tops and the piles of laundry we'd yet to fold (Was I the only one that noticed that laundry seems to be all of our No. 1 nemesis?).

We saw that we are all pretty amazing people under our clutter. And that being a good mom has nothing to do with how well we mop our floors or what designer outfits we're (not) wearing.

So, Jess and I are doing it again. In fact, this week, we're vlogging.

Last week, Jen over at Canadian Rhapsody vlogged. And this week, Shannon gave us a hint that she was, too.

So we jumped on board.

Which is shocking for me because, ladies, I hate vlogging.

I hate my voice on camera. I'm never "dressed" enough for it. And, well, I'm kind of awkward and dorky, and I like things better when I can type them out and proofread.

But that's not the point of Messy Mom Monday.

So today, I'm embracing the vlog.

Let's do this.

Don't you like how I'm like, "I'm not gonna show you our bedroom," and then you catch a glimpse of it anyway in it's god-awful state?

Well, folks, that's what happens when you're using your Macbook as a camera. And when you decide to wash your sheets right before you turn on said Macbook camera. (I swear! You can hear the washing machine in the video!)

Also note that, as of eight hours after I recorded this, the Giant Old TV I Hate in my living room was sold. I did indeed do a happy dance.

Still, funnily enough, after it was all said and done and I had turned off the camera? Well, I kept finding things all over my house that I normally cover up, but now, I just kept thinking, "Aw, man! Shoulda put that on camera, too!"

Apparently this honest vlogging thing is catching.

I'll admit, my house is pretty shameful right now. I blame our impending move. Tell me I'm not the only one who, weeks out from a move, just stops caring about putting little things away.

Actually, don't tell me. Just join in for today's Messy Mom Monday.

Write, vlog, or capture your messes - physical, emotional, or otherwise - in any way you see fit.

Then link up below!
.

Happy Messy Mom Monday, everyone!

LOVE IT! You are awesome.

And dude. My vlog died. No sound. Spent an hour this morning trying to fix it. I may have cried a little. Perfectionism over messy...cause that doesn't make me sound a little nuts. LOL

If I knew I was moving, I don't think I'd clean AT ALL. I mean, it's just not worth it!

Will you guys have to pack everything up to move, or does the military send packers/movers?

My car seat is always in the way. Usually in the narrow hallway for me to trip over. And trust me.. I do the exact same thing when I know I'm moving, because what's the point?

I love this link-up so much. If it weren't for the fact that I participate in another one every Monday, I would probably join in too (I think you mentioned last week that non-moms are encouraged to do it too?) I have been having a really hard time lately, not feeling "good enough." I've been feeling terribly guilty. And the major reason is that every blog I read seems to have pictures of a perfectly decorated house with everything in its place. My reality looks nothing like that!! With the busyness of working part time and being gone in Akron for classes for 12 hours every Tuesday and Thursday, I really struggle to keep my house clean, and even on my best days, my house looks nothing close to as good as the other houses I see in blogland. This link up makes me feel so normal, and I love it!! I'm so glad you and other ladies are being REAL. Because I guarantee a lot of those blogs I read are probably clearing clutter out of the backgrounds of their pictures and masking their true reality :-) (which I'm also guilty of at times!)

Anyway, thank you so much!!! My heart is happy today knowing that it's okay that I'm not perfect. I'd rather be living life than making sure my surroundings look perfect to outsiders :-)

I love this link-up. It is nice to see some non perfect pics once in awhile! We totally still have all our Christmas cards on the mantle... and my shoes are almost to cause a divorce around here (and omygoodness precious baby!!)

Thanks for sharing this!

Yay for a vlog! I have definitely decided you should move closer:-) Ella is so adorable...as always. Don't feel bad about the state of the house, before our moves we stop caring as well.

Can I just say that I REALLY needed this link up today?? Just having one of those "OH MY LORD MY HOUSE IS TRASHED!" type days. Seeing that other moms are in the same boat makes me feel 100% better (and less alone). :)

LOVED the vlog. I do the same thing with my Christmas frames! LOL.

Love it!! "Aww - shoulda put that on camera" LMBO

So true! I normally try to turn the camera just enough to block out the pile of laundry or crop it later! LOL But now - yep - its very liberating!

I love this! It's so fun to see and hear bloggers you read all the time. I totally know we'd be friends. Sure you don't want to move to Kansas?? I'm sure we have TONS of naval bases here in the midwest. LOL

PS I just realized in my morning rush I linked the wrong post. Awesome. At least it went to a messy house post...just not the right one!

Is it sad have more than one?? Doesn't speak too highly of my housekeeping does it!

My mom told me once that being a stay at home mom was so easy! But I definitely remember one time when a friend of hers stopped by to visit and my sister and I were sitting on the kitchen floor eating dinner because the table was so full of stuff that we had no where to sit! That is how she got the sign that reads "Dull Women Have Immaculate Houses". Everyone is so busy! If they don't have kids keeping them busy, they most likely have a full time job and a commute...and some people have both! No one should ever beat themself up over not having it all together because no one does all of the time. We just do the best we can.

So fun to see your house! When I first read about the TV I was thinking didn't they just get a big one and they are getting rid of it! Glad to see it wasn't your TV!

I love this! And I can't wait to start. I'm a new follower. I'm Shannon Dew's cousin...and I found you on her blog, on her Messy Mom's Monday today! And...we're going to be in the moving madness here soon. (March 10th) is the day we're starting...so I'm sure our house will be an eye soar. But that's ok! I can't wait for Monday!!

Ugh, the carseat is the bane of my existence! There is no where for it to go, and it comes in with us b/c it's easier than getting him in and out while carrying stuff in. Houses really need a carseat storage area!

Seeing you on video "in person" made me miss you a little ;) Since, you know I've met you before, haha. Love it!

Love it. Still not sure how I feel about vlogging as a whole, but I do like seeing my fav bloggers talk! Just not me, lol.

Love it! I don't know why I pictured you with a southern accent...but you definitely don't have one!

aww, i loved watching you. This has to be because you are moving, right? I expected you to be super anal and clean! lol. AND, Mostly, I am AMAZED that you left Ella in that spot and walked all around your house and came back and she was still chillin just hanging out...like no big deal mom, you can trust me here and go do your thing!
