From my mother.
Because she's high-tech like that.
Showing technology I didn't know her phone possessed, she sent me the following picture of my father and a message, carefully crafted, I'm sure, to warn me about my future.
And, of course, scar me for life.
I'm not sure what's worse; the fact that my parents just finally heard of a little film called Up, or the fact that they purposefully blew up their queen-size air mattress in their living room so they could recline oh-so-luxuriously while watching a Disney movie.
And then there's the matter of my mother's blatant reference to a blow-up doll.
Which I'm not even going to consider, as it makes me want to run at full-speed and cliff dive off some huge Himalayan mountain, just so I can think about something else.
Then again, I suppose I shouldn't judge.
I was the one home alone on a Saturday night. Grading papers. Drinking tea. Wrapped in a Snuggie. Making my gene pool proud.
But at least there wasn't a blow-up device - mattress and/or doll - in sight.

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Haha..this is so funny!! At least your parents know what text messaging is...pretty sure my parents have NOT caught up with that technology yet!
Really funny...I am still laughing....now I know where you got your humor from after reading your Mom's text...the gene pool :)
Tee-hee. Parents aren't real people, are they?
Lol that's funny! Annnnd I hated UP! I cried forever and I'm pretty sure I will never watch it again. In fact, I was in BJ's the weekend after I watched it, saw it playing on 57 flat screen T.V's and started speed walking past them with my cart!
That's awesome! You're parents sound like they're a lot of fun!
I agree with "Red High Heels" - I had to try to explain how to work a DVD player to my grandarents once, and that was a trip. No blow-ups in sight there, though! :)
Oh gosh so funny. Parents are awesome, lol.
He, he!! Too funny!!
Funny post today!!
There are soooo many ways this could have been worse. I think you should embrace the fact that your mother used text messaging AND included a picture.
I am all about those big Saturday nights too...just wait until you have children to throw in to the wild mix. :)
The beach from Sat. pictures was Hilton Head. Will be about 1.5 hours from you. Gorgeous...we should go explore together. Have a great day.
You KNOW you are going to be texting your kids like that in no time. Hilarious.
hahaha, that is so funny! :)
haha.... Nice! At least they know how to have a party huh? :-) Don't worry, on Saturday night, we were on the couch watching movies as well...That's our idea of a crazy Saturday night, you are so not alone! (Though we were not grading papers, but that might be quite odd given neither of us are teachers!) Hope you had a fabulous weekend!
Haha, that has got to be the funniest thing I've heard today!
we were at home dealing with the stomach virus (declan)...so our weekend wasnt too exciting either!
I would be mortified if my mom sent me that message. I just wouldn't be able to get past the doll reference. Luckily, I don't think that my parents even know how to text (yet!).
Awesome.
That's hilarious.
That is too funny!!
Omg - that is too funny!
My mom is on Facebook, but she does not (and will not) text. She says it's too expensive.
Too funny! It sounds like a crazy evening and I love it :)
HILARIOUS!!!
My parents are on facebook and text all the time-my inlaws on the other hand think texting and facebook are from satan. HA!
Ha! Amazing.
I love my second set of parents! They are too funny!
Nothing more to be said about this except: hilarious!
OMG, I like to believe my mom doesn't know what blow up dolls are. If she does, I don't wanna know about it! This is hilarious. XOXO
haha.. the apple doesn't fall.... j/k!! :)

LOL! Love it. I guess it's fine for outsiders to think what your parents were doing was cute, right? :) I'm sure if I got that pic/text from mine, I'd want to take a dive off the nearest cliff too :)
That's adorable and not a bad idea.
Yeah blow up doll is just one of the words you don't want to hear coming out of your parents mouth
